After looking at this thread, I started to think that the PO of my truck actually did some good stuff. I started this thread.

I got one, not from the PO, he didn't do anything to/for this truck but drive it. I think the original owner may be responsible. See, he decided he wanted an oil cooler on his engine. The best way he could figure out how to do it was to adapt a fitting onto the oil pressure sending unit port and then run a hose to the cooler and from the cooler to this cool fitting on the front of the oil pan. So you can see he not only found an ingenious way to cool the oil, but to save it from wear and tear by not having to pass through the engine!!! That's awesomeness!!!

How that engine lived so long being deprived of most of its oil....well it's an FE.

That is correct, with the oil being as cool an unused as it was there's no reason not to extend the oil change intervals.

I don't have pictures, but the inner fenders where the hinges bolt to rusted away so I used Jeep cj hood hinges.
It worked good and you could flip the hood back to the windshield for easy access to the engine.

Where did all of it go you may ask... who knows? I'm sure I'll find out when I tear the engine down. But, to the P.O.'s credit, it was doubled up and had silicone around the edges for a tight fit.

This just came up on another forum I'm in. The OP pointed out that the guarantee is solid, as it says ""guaranteed to increase gas mileage up to 27%" and zero is less than 27%.

Personally I think it's legit since it has a picture of a guy in a race car jacket on the front, they can't fake that!
