I haven't had any experience with either one, but, based on what guys on this forum have said, there's an old addage that holds true. :hmm:

"You get what you pay for!!" :doh:

Somebody who has bought them may be able to dispute this. :?

Just used the LMC replacement body mounts on a 72 last week and worked great. Though we did have to manipulate the sheet metal cab mounts ordered from there but was well worth saving a few $$$.

Nobody sells reproduction rubber bushings, everything you buy will be universal-fit. Universal means it doesn't fit anything, some modifications are always necessary.

This is an edited post: In no way do I mean to contridict Fodification, because everyone knows this site ROCKS!

The work he does for all of us is unknowable, and to my knowledge has never ask a dime from anyone! :fr:

For some years I've known of Steelerubber.com 800 447 0849
I called them and the Rep "Trent" by name, stated that the factory numbers are used so that the customer knows the part will fit.

Kit, cab to frame mounting. Replaces factory #C7TZ-5400-S. Fits 2W/D F100-250 series trucks.
20-0889-48.....$ 133.70/kit

Sooooo, I asked about my project truck, a 68 F-250. I also have a 70 F-100. If, as I suspect the Radiator Support Pads will fit either truck, I'd like to order a set. However hold on, Trent says "I can only guarantee that the part will fit the Half ton Pick-up"... "Unless I can verify that the part (by measuring one from my F250) and the Steele Rubber part are in fact the same"... "Send one or both to me and let me see." "Mark the box to my attention". How cool is that!

Pad kit, radiator support to frame. Replaces factory #C4TZ-8125-S. Fits 2 W/D F100 series trucks.

1965-66: All Trucks;
1967-72: All F100 series Trucks;
1973-76: Fits 2 W/D F100 series trucks

I had a lot of trouble getting my front cab mount and radiator support bushings to work. I got them from DC. I had trouble with their vent window gaskets, their arm rests, out side door handles and push buttons and side of hood reflectors.
That was all about 8-9 years ago so maybe things have changed.

I don't know where Trent got those numbers as fitting our trucks, but they don't....at least according to the Ford Truck Master Parts Catalog. The first number you listed (C7TZ-5400-S) isn't even shown in the MPC at all...anywhere. Typically in a number such as this, '5400' would be the Group Number (or Basic Part Number), and there is no 5400 Group Number at all. The second number (C4TZ-8125-S) isn't listed either, though Group No. 8125 is...but it's for a radiator mounting bushing...NOT a radiator SUPPORT bushing. Medium/heavy trucks are mounted with these rubber bushings to the core support. These can NOT be used for radiator support bushings on our trucks.

The correct numbers for the cab mount bushings and radiator support bushings are shown in the MPC (Body Section 000 - Page 13) as follows:

Hmmm.....OK, so now I'm confused, so I did some further checking (which I should have done before that last post). There were some number changes, according to the January 1980 O.S.I.:
  • C5TZ-8100155-A - replaced by D3TZ-10000396-A
  • C7TZ-8100154-A - replaced by D3TZ-10000396-A which was then replaced by D8TZ-10000396-A.
...but absolutely no mention anywhere (that I can find) of Group # 5400 in the MPC or any of the O.S.I. catalogs.

Upon checking other Ford parts vendors, it does seem as if they're all using Group No. 5400 to designate body bushing kits...not individual bushings, but bushing kits. However, I have no idea where this number comes from. :hmm: :dk: I'll have to keep digging and see what I can come up with.

Hey Keith
I'm confused...
67-72 4x4 had same cab bushings front and rear.
67-72 4x2 used the same bushing in the front only as 4x4
That bushing part number (upper) is C4TZ-8100154C
In your chart, it shows the thickness of the bushing for 4x4 is 1-7/16" and the thickness for the 4x2 is 1-1/8" but same part number?
Also with the radiator support bushing. 72 has a separate listing from 67-71, same part number different thicknesses.
I do not have factory ones to reference and need to trim down a set of prothane ones as they are too tall.
I've been searching for hours, maybe I'm just tired 🤷‍♂️

I got body mounts from LMC and you do get what you pay for. I have had them on about 2 years now, truck is still getting worked on, no driving around and the large mounts for the cab have already cracked. Go for DC
1971 F250 Camper Special, family owned since 1972
1983 Cherokee, last of the big ones, bought in Italy, family owned since 1998
1965 Corvair Corsa Convertible, 140 engine, 4 speed.

My friend might need body mounts for his '71 F250 project. It's a barn find and we'll see first the extent of the rust. Got to finish first the installation of the new rotor and black rhino wheels on the Silverado this week before we can clear the garage and take her in.
