I went with shorty headers for a 5.0 mustang and they fit perfect. I've had truck towed to a muffler shop and had 2.25 duels with 18 inch glasspacks installed. I had them to exit the pipes behind rear tires and hide them from view. Pipes are pointing down. This block was brand new n 2000. The rotating assembly is balanced. Forged alum 9.5 flat top pistons. Hastings rings with moly coating. The heads are 1965 289 heads and been completely rebuilt with 194/160 Manley valves, 500 lift valve spring, brass valve guides, hardend valve sets.. Screw in valve studs with comp cam roller rockers. Double roller chain. The comp cam mutha thumper. Edelbrock proformer intake with Holley 600. Valve covers from a factory 5.0...it's got more goodies but my mind went blank hehe

The fan pulley, crank pulley and the power steering pump and brackets are from a 84 3/4 ton van. Went that way cause van uses the Saginaw pump. I just ordered the alt brackets from a 75 pickup and what I can tell from research belts will line up. I'm also adding the duraspark II ignition with the help of painless wiring.

The clear coat on my truck has started pilling real bad... It's a disappointment but I found a shop that's going to paint it for me next spring if everything goes as planned..

Update- I went with crank pulley, fan pulley, and Saginaw ps pump for 80's E250. And use alt brackets from a 70's f100.

The issues I had updating to duraspark ignition

There is nothing wrong with finding an original wiring harness if you can find a good clean one but I opted for a new painless wiring harness due to the new plugs and not being able to find any at the bone yard.
The painless wiring harness comes with everything you will need and also some instructions. After hooking the duraspark ignition up while following the instructions and having the supplied ballast resister burn up, I began studying how others connected their ignitions and comparing them to the painless wiring instructions.
The painless wiring instructions coincide with how others do it and even how the factory did it except for the hotwire going to coil. And this hotwire is what uses the ballast resister in the painless set up, which burnt up after about 10 secs with key on.
So, after some studying and guidance from fordification members, I ended up having you use the new coil power source but without the ballast resister.
For the red and white wires coming from module, I ran the white wire to "I" terminal on the solenoid there by replacing the brown wire. Next I ran the red wire from module to the extra pin on fuse box. I do have a 40 amp relay I may add to this wire.
Hope this helps anyone trying to hookup the duraspark ignition byway of painless wiring harness for the first time....
