wiring diferences.

Post by rjewkes »

Ok what is the difference between the ignition system wiring on the 73-79's versus the 67-72.

That is how do i take and put either a 72 360 into a 77 F-150.
Or an 85-89 TFI Straight 6 into the 77 F-150?

Wich will be closer/ easier to do? i have to get the truck running by the end of December.

First off i want rid of the tfi. So i'd go to duraspark II The Ignition Module Will be removed to make the 400 that was in it work for The P.O.

Horse trades thats only thing wrong with horse trades. And could i get the duraspark I or II to cwork on the 72 with the 73-79 module? Does this involve some computer hidden in the 77? Please Help?

I'll take a shot and say the '72 360 in to the '77 would be easier. they both have to have the general wiring (ignition, charging, starting, ect.) under the hood.
what did the '77 have in it originally?

I think all you have to do is get the Duraspark distributor for whatever engine you're gonna use and plug it into the existing Duraspark box on the truck. They didn't have computers in the '73 - '79.

Here's some Duraspark info:
