Transmission Wanted

Post by Fordguy77 »

My little sisters boyfriend just blew his transmission in his 71 mach 1. Currently it has a c3 in it, seems like a strange combo especially for a 16 year old kid with a built 351C. Ideally if he can find a builder transmission itd be great, and if we found a built all the better.
Ideally Looking for:
C6 with smallblock pattern
FMX with or without bellhousing.

Would also be interested in a Ford 4sp Toploader if anyone has one floating around.

Thanks,
Chris

I love the Mach 1's! Not sure where you are and if the 351C bell housing is the same as an FE but this one was up for a sale last week http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... 11&t=69391

FYI- Ford never used a C3 in the '73 Mustang, they didn't come out until '74. The 351C is a big block, so the c6 with a small block housing will not work. Are you sure it's a C3 and not a C6 already? Also, going to the top loader would be cool, but you'll have to change everything- pedals, linkage, mounts, shaft ends, flexplate, speedo gear, etc. Good luck either way you go!

I have an old NP-435 that according to my grandfather just needs new bearings. I'd be willing to sell it if you want it. I'm in Maine so it would cost a bit to ship.
