Anyone have an aftermarket steering column?

Post by dotcentral »

Does anyone have a flaming river or ididit steering column in the truck? I have some questions I'd like to ask about ordering, fit, function, installation, etc.
Former owner of 70 LB SportCustom and a 71 SB SportCustom. Looking for a replacement bump!

I have a flaming river in mine. I bought a 33" (I think, been a while) and was just sure I measured it right. It's okay for me but it would be a bit snug for anyone bigger than 5'10" 200 lbs. It's really close to my chest and will probably impale me in a collision. Pretty darn pricey too! Other than that, I LOVE it! I had the idid it first but just didn't like ti so i took it out and sent it back. The ididit didn't have the gear selector and that was important to me. I also have the FR mahogany steering wheel. Will probably change that out one of these years. I can rummage through my paper work and see what the exact specs were. I'd probably do 31 or shorter if I had it to do over again.
I had a buddy install it so I may be of no help there
