The real reason R-12 has been replaced is that DuPont was about to lose it's patent on the stuff.
Wanna guess which corporation holds the patent on R-134a?

I once helped a guy move a storage shed full of r-12. didn't nknow what it was worth. He said we could have whatever didn't fit in the uhaul(over half the shed). :doh: Told him that was ok.

Ps. in previous post mentioned my interest in the whole thing including the bracke from the engine.

Here's a typical dealer add-on setup. The only thing missing in this shot is the compressor, which the two large hoses would connect to.
