In dash radio speaker

Post by ponyexpress »

Does anyone have a recommendation for an am/fm radio speaker that fits in stock position under dash pad?

Mac's.
Part No. 64-12142

Works OK. Not unhappy with it. Not thrilled either. The metal bar thingy that holds in the factory speaker will be useless. I used very pointy 9/16" Phillips Lath screws as fastening hardware. Electric drill with a very long #2 bit. It was kind of a pain in the butt. But with patience and a flashlight between my teeth, I managed a sturdy install.

Used the one from Autozone, oval shaped like the original, but it was not a direct fit.

I tied it in place with zip ties, and it has sounded "pretty good" ever since. :fr:

If you look at some of the Mustang venders, you will find a dual speaker setup that fits into the original position.

I ordered one from these guys, who were extremely knowledgeable:

http://www.turnswitch.com/

Works great. I tossed the 1980s Blaupunkt system
And went back to stock for my 1970.
