My YouTube Channel

Post by sargentrs »

Since I'm not doing anything productive with my truck, I thought I'd occupy my downtime by trying my hand at posting some slideshows on YouTube. Since I have thousands of photos, and I'm camera shy, a slide show seemed like the right way to go. Still kind of new at this so any tips/tricks are greatly appreciated.

You can find it by searching YouTube for 1970 Ford F100 Restomod by Randy Sargent https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... dy+Sargent

There are 7 videos up there now. Haven't quite got it figured out how get them all to play back to back. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Cool, I was hoping it would. I'm trying make and post videos in sequence to the way I've actually got done what I have. Maybe by the time it's current I'll be able to get back on it. It's also like a refresher course for me. Only wish I'd taken better and more pictures. Thanks!

Thanks! Biggest problem I'm running into is background music. I can't put any good stuff on there because YouTube kicks it out for copyright infringement. I started out with AC/DC, Tom Petty, ZZ Top and others. The music fit the topic. But they wouldn't publish my videos because of it. What you're hearing there now is the free YouTube audio stuff. :cuss:

Actually, I make the slide show in MS Power Point and then save it as an .mp4 file. Power Point gives you a lot of graphics tools, fonts, themes and audio tools to work with.

Thanks for posting the budget video! I've been thinking about it a lot lately and then seeing the video was like an omen to get on it.
Thanks for that needed push to do it Randy.

I'm paid bi-weekly, every other Friday. My wife's car payment is $629/mo. That's a big chunk to come out of one check. I split it in half across 2 checks. If you push that 1/2 payment to them on every check, when the interest is calculated at the end of the billing period, it'll be calculated on a lower balance, therefore less interest will be credited against the payment. If you budget 1/2 per check, every so many checks, you get to skip a half payment and you can throw that in savings. I'll be posting another video to show that hopefully today.

You just need to make sure that your payment goes to them after the billing period, when you get your statement. If you pay it before then, it'll get posted against your balance and you'll still owe the full payment instead of just the balance after you've paid half. It's a good idea to call them ahead of time and make sure that if you send half a payment it'll get credited against the payment due and not against the principal and you still have to make that full payment. Of course, if you have the extra money, make payments against the principal periodically and the balance will come down faster, if they do that.
