T-18 Manual Transmission

Post by jpfanne »

I have a 1971 Ford F-100 with a T-18 manual transmission. I have it all rebuilt and ready to install in my restored frame, but I'm having problems trying to find any information on what color the transmission would have been from the factory. It appears to look black in a few spots but not sure if that was actually the paint or if it was just a dark cast iron color where it was not all rusted. I also am curious if the bellhousing would be just aluminum color or if it would match the color of the transmission.

Thanks,

Doesn't exactly say but these have a reputation for T-18s and other transmissions. Picures show them black. http://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/tr ... al/t18-t19

Mine is black and it's only got 83,000 miles on it so I'm sure that's original.........
