3.03 Toploader shift arms. side of transmission

Post by lselse3 »

Howdy,
Currently rebuilding my grandpas 71 f100. Came with the 3 on the tree toploader 3.03. Im missing the arms that go on the side of the transmission that hook up to the rest of the shifter linkages and cant seem to find them online anywhere. Does anyone know a place that I can find them, or refer me to someone who may be willing to sell me some? Also, side note, how much torque/abuse can the small input one 3.03 take?

Thank y'all for your time, and effort.

Can't help with the levers but I can tell you what I've experienced with the transmission. I loaded the bed of my truck completely full to the top of the sides with wet sand and drove her 40 miles over the mountain and back, 2 trips. I've also hauled 2x6 fence posts that had been concreted into my yard and pulled out. 1600 lbs to the dump 25 miles away. The old 3.03 never hesitated. Don't get me wrong, it was hairy ride and the front end was kind of squirelly but as for how tough the tranny is, she's capable of almost anything.

I have a 3.03 out of an Econoline van that has them but don't know if they are the same as the truck linkage - if anyone knows for sure it they would work I would be willing to part with them..........

If I can post a pic of the ones I have could you compare it with the ones on your 3.03 and see if they match? Like my post says mine came out of an Econoline but if they match i can help him out because I don't have any use for them.......

Where do you live? I have a complete 3.03 transmission that I would let go pretty cheap. It's in north central Florida.

Thank you all for your help! Unfortunately, I am in North Texas, so Florida is a ways away. Maybe there's a way I can just fabricate some of the arms if I cant find a set.

Thank yall for your help!
Im not any where near florida, so sending an entire transmission isnt a great option.
I may try to fabricate something.

I am seeing the parts online, or something that looks very similar, but they say that they fitment is for like a 1960 f-100 and doesnt list the 1971.
They look almost identical to what I remember, and near identical to what is in the photo you posted. Anyone know if these work or can be made to work?

Thank you for all your help!
I think I may have found a couple online, but im not completely sure if they are the exact match.
I may end up having to fabricate something.

Thank you for all the feed back. I have now found the parts I need for the time being. If anyone is parting out a truck, let me know.
