1968 F500 Utility Truck

I may purchase this truck, If I do I will post more photos of it later. :)

It looks like a very low mileage truck. You can tell just by opening the hood or driver side door.
Originally owned by a utility company in a small town. The current owner drove it around town a little
bit and just stored his tools in it. I love the patina. The owner says it looks like the truck from the movie
Jeepers Creepers. I can see the resemblance but the truck in the movie is much older.

oh, it has an inline six cylinder engine.

p.s. i haven't logged on in a long time. I only have a 2003 F250 7.3L Powerstroke Crew Cab, six speed manual,
two wheel drive, long bed right now.
other vehicles are a 2008 Dodge Magnum and 1989 GMC Sierra neither of which are running.

Can I post the VIN here? F50BKD59542 1968

I hope to get it back on the road soon. I want to keep the truck as is. I just want to clean it up.
I mean keep the "patina" and do no body work unless it's structural. However, i used to have a f750 I had dreamed of putting a f100 bed and crew cab on...

I purchased the F500 truck Tuesday by the way.

I don't want to change anything. If the motor is good just drive it. However the lady has another engine and transmission that her husband
bought to put in. They are both six cylinder engines. She referred to another engine as the "small" one. I don't know if one is a 300 and another
a 240 or it's just small because it didn't have the transmission attached. She called the one with tranny the granny transmission. So I don't know
even what type of transmission is in the truck currently.

After she gets her stuff out of the truck i'm taking it to a mechanical freind of mine's place where we will see what's wrong with the engine.

What is a fuelie six? Is that one with a stronger crank shaft. I don't know much about them except that 300s were made up to 1996.

Yes a 300 out of a 90's truck with the fuel injection. They are smooth and quite powerful too in my opinion. It with still be all ford and should bolt in. Or if your engine is bad just put in a 300 and gain hp and torque, that is a big truck. You want it to be as daily driveable as possible.

I don't know the best way to share photos on here but I got a link to some photos on my flickr.com account.

I took a few photos of the truck on Friday. I'm not going to get to mess with it much until we tow it to the shop
or to my house. I did notice there is some old gas in the tank and the valve cover is loose. The previous owner
was trying to figure out maybe if it had a problem with timing. I'm not really sure.

Look how the grille guard is attached to the frame through the grille. I didn't get a photo of the bar that goes inside under the hood though.
