You could give these guys a call, they rebuild brake boosters: http://www.boosterdeweyexchange.com

Thank you for the comment. Just checked the site and due to Covid-19, they are on a 4 to 5 week backlog. While my 72 is not a daily driver, I am hoping to find a quicker solution. I should have mentioned it before, I am in N.C. and they are in Oregon. Thanks for the recommendation!

I believe there were at least two different brake boosters used; one was a smaller, single diaphragm unit and the other was a larger, dual diaphragm unit.

Take a look at this thread: http://www.fordification.com/forum/view ... hp?t=38068

If yours is the larger one that looks like his, shown towards the bottom of page 1, you can buy the rebuilt booster at NAPA; PN NBB 5473112. I just bought one myself recently, as I (like robroy) have a '72 F250 8100GVW with front discs.

Hope that helps! If you can, post a picture of your booster.

Not sure why they came in sideways. I took them vertically with iPhone and uploaded them the same way.

That looks like the smaller one to me, which means you have 4 wheel drum brakes, yes? I am not 100% sure because mine is front discs so I don't have hands-on experience with that particular booster, but I am fairly sure that the booster you're looking for is probably easiest to find as a Cardone rebuilt unit; Rockauto lists it as Cardone 5473512. That corresponds to NAPA NBB 5473512. I bet you that your local NAPA can order it for you if they don't have it in stock. Mine had to order my larger booster and it was ready for pickup the next day. I think that's your best bet

BTW, the pictures look fine to me.

I do have drum brakes all around.

Thank you! I will try Napa. RockAuto was out of stock when I checked today.

Thanks Sparky72 and the other gentleman who chimed in.

One more thing - if Napa is no dice, try other stores (O'Reilly, Advance, etc) - they probably all have it as the same basic part number.

You also need to know if it is an adjustable rod or not, if it isn’t an adjustable rod - good luck no one had them when I was looking. Oreily might tell you they can order it but you’ll never see it. Don’t use any chains rebuild yours program as more than one store manager advised they will use yours to fill someone else’s order...

NPD MIGHT have a loaded one (meaning it comes with a master cylinder.)...
