C6 Rebuild

Anyone have experience in rebuilding a C6? Mine is leaking real bad (all over). It's a 1974 so the seals are no
doubt all dried out. I a thinking of buying a rebuild kit along with the CD and DIY. Any ideas?

I have not had to do this myself, but my understanding is it is one of the easier transmissions to rebuild. Here is a link on where to get a C6 rebuild CD, and there are many youtubes that show you how to rebuild them. I know that the rebuild kits are readily available. Hopefully someone that has done the rebuild will chime in. Good luck, and keep us informed of your progress.

Years ago I went through the C6 in my mud truck.
I had three books and would look at them all when I got confused (there was no internet then)
And I had some other trannies for parts and reference ,for reassembly because I spent a couple of weeks at it.
I took it apart and had a local engine rebuilder hot tank it for me.
I remember having to improvise a tool to compress something , clutch pack maybe?
It wasn't terribly complicated but you have to measure things and be clean and careful.
I bought a reverse pattern valve body, so I didn't get into that
I ran it hard for a number of years, And If I have the time I'd do it again.
but the last time I needed one, I had a local shop do it because I needed it done sooner than I could do it.

If your is just leaking Try some Lucas , I've had good luck with that too.
