Headlight buckets reversed.

Post by beejaytx225 »

Did you know that the headlight buckets can be reversed? I thought I was loosing my mind when I saw that low beam was cross-eyed pattern and high beam pointed them both out. Weird stuff man. It appears that when the buckets are put on the wrong sides of the truck, it makes the headlight bulbs install sideways instead of horizontal. Previous owner blunder, but makes me wonder how they ever drove at night :?

67-68 and 69 headlight buckets are different than 70-71 and 72. A lot of people think they're the same but they're not. If you use the wrong bucket it will turn the headlight 1/4 turn or so.
Also installing them on the wrong side will mess you up as you know.

That's probably the reason they stamp left and right on the buckets. The previous owner might not have realized that left is the drivers side of the truck. Interesting info! Thanks for sharing.

i know what you are talking about. i ordered a new left side from DC and it's got my head light turned sideways and DC claims it is for a 69 also. going to try locating the proper one somewhere or i might just live with what i got.
