painting over single stage paint.

Post by Zorm »

thinking about making the truck 2 tone, I can just do some light sanding of the area to paint, which, like in the subj line is already single stage. I'm thinking a single stage white, then maybe clear over the whole truck? thoughts

Yep, scuff the shine off and paint over it.
you can wet sand with 400 - 600 , then a red or gray scotch brite in the nooks and crannies.
If you're being rude and crude just use a red scotch brite.
I've even used S O S pads when I wasn't being fussy.
The two concerns
Is the paint you're painting over sticking good ?
And the paint you're going to use not having a bad reaction with whats there.
