back finally feels better, got the mounting done. made straps, still need to clean and paint and put the rubber isolators in. wound up with 16" of ground clearance. i welded the nuts to the inside of the x members. also mounted the mustang fuel filter bracket / filter

** not sure why the tank looks lop sided, must be the angle of the picture

decided to use a ranger fuel door instead, the dent fill tube is larger than the ranger tank fill.

Looking good!

Still blows my mind, (I've "preached" the Bronco tank install for years) why anyone could/would even fathom putting the Mustang tank in that requires butchering up the flat portion of the rear bed area, (which also makes hauling anything 8' long a thing of the past). :hmm: :pop:

i completely agree. i hate the filler in the bed floor. i guess if the truck is only a hot rod or a show truck it would work, but not if your going to use it.

This is another project on my list. I definitely dont like the fuel nozzle in the bed floor. I really like the bed rail ones but not sure if I want to do that but we will see when its time. Looking good on the project.

I've been following this. I like this much more than the mustang tank . Have you figured out how to get the sending unit to work? I'm doing this also just ordered the tank and pump assembly .

Not real sure but isn't the Bronco tank sending unit the same ohm resistance? :hmm:

That looks good and seems like a relatively simple install. Any idea how low it hangs compared to a typical Mustang tank retrofit?
