E-brake cable

Is the E-brake cable suppose to route thru the holes in crossmember. MY e-brake works fine but dont know if i got them run the proper way. I tried looking at the drawings in the break down tech page but could not find anything out. I use the brake a lot and just don't want to damage cables.

I believe it only goes through 2nd hole.... actually has a fitting to hold it in that hole. What yr is your truck and why does it not look like this

Where's the sleeve around the cable I can take a picture under my truck(I just installed it)of how I routed mine. The 70 I have, takes the one I pictured for you but, the earlier (67-69) is different length and style

the truck is a 69SWB. The pic you have posted with the rubber sleeve on the cable looks like the one i have .That sleeve is closer to the rear of truck(close to the drums) and they don't slide up or down the cable.

Sorry I'm just getting to see this, busy week. Here's a few photos showing how mine was routed.

thanks for the reply Randy. That is the same way mine is running. There are 2 holes in that crossmember ( one you can't see in pic ). As you can see in my pic above i have cable running thru both holes but seems to me if i use e-brake frequently it would start fraying cable. I feel like i'm missing something like a metal sleeve to fit in hole circled or i'm just overthinking my issue.

I still think your cable should only go through that last hole
