390 crank pulley: use cast or stamped?

Post by Roger_1488 »

Ok so On the front of the balancer, I plan to have the three sheave pulley that comes in one piece and then an additional pulley that mounts in the "bowl" so to speak of the three sheave pulley. The problem is that that one is cast and the other is stamped. The cast one has 5 countersuck divets in the rim of the sheave and I don't know if this for balancing or something else? As you can see in my pick, above the pen shows the 5 divets and then the stamped pulley. Which one should I be using and do the divets serve a purpose necessitating a certain orientation on the crank or what? Thanks for any help.

Sorry, the facebook link is the best picture I can procure. I can't ue photobucket for hosting anymore and the 500kb image limit here is too small to properly post the picture of the pair of pulleys.
