Radiator help...what to get? 240/300 size engine

Post by JWW »

So I am using a radiator support from a 78/79 six cylinder truck. The cut out is for a six cylinder six radiator. I have been searching and bought one that was supposed to fit. However, the mounting holes from side to side to not line up.

The mounting holes from side to side are 23 1/4" centers and the mounting holes up and down are 11" centers.

I see other mounting holes for radiators that have an extended flange. Those holes on my radiator support are 28 3/4" side to side and 11" up and down.

I found a radiator that will work but it does not have the transmission oil cooler. I could go this route and just put in a different transmission cooler down the road.

My other potential option is one from Summit Racing (model SUM-382013). See below picture.

Image I've put a call in to them to get the mounting hole locations, but still waiting.

Anyone buy a radiator for their six cylinder truck lately or have suggestions? Thanks

Thanks Jeff

I was able to find a different radiator that fits. It doesn’t have transmission lines for cooling but I can add a separate cooler.
