Article 960 - Leaking or Poorly Grounded Oil Pressure Sender or Switch

TSB #52 - December 2, 1966
(All Cars and Trucks)

Loose or poorly grounded oil senders and switches have been found to be the cause for some customer complaints of oil leaks or an inoperative oil gauge or warning system.

Before replacing a suspected oil sending unit or switch, remove the assembly and apply conductive sealer (C3AZ-19554-B) around the mounting threads. Re-install the sender or switch and re-check for normal operation.

If a sender or switch replacement is necessary, application of the conductive sealer to the mounting threads will insure proper grounding and prevent oil leak in this area. The torque specification for installing the switch or sender is 10 to 15 foot pounds.
