Article 929 - Inadequate Condensate Drainage Through Evaporator Drain Tube

TSB #49 - November 4, 1966
(1966-67 Fairlane and Falcon Equipped with Integral Air Conditioning)

An inadequate condensate drainage through the evaporator drain tube assembly, may be caused by an improper cutting operation in the drain valve assembly. In some instances, the three cross slits in the thin membrane in the valve are not cut completely through, thereby restricting the flow of water from the evaporator.

In high ambient and high humidity conditions, water will spill out of the A/C cooler duct. This condition can be corrected on a customer complaint basis, by inspecting the drain tube valve for foreign material or restrictions. Pierce the center of the valve with a pencil or other sharp object to provide adequate drainage.
