Article 1294 - Excess Fuel Cable Return Spring

To improve and maintain satisfactory operating characteristics of the 363 Dorset Diesel excess fuel selector, a cable return spring (C7TZ-9737-G) can be installed at the injector pump end of the excess fuel selector cable. The excess fuel selector cable installation was outlined in Special Service Letter #45 dated September 21, 1967, for F, N, C & B series vehicles equipped with 363 Dorset Diesel engines. Supplemental instructions to Special Service Letter #45 are as follows:

C-Series - Kit #C7TZ-9700-D (See Fig. 6)
    • Remove the bowden wire from the control assembly. Measure 43.0" from the handle end and cut off remaining cable.
    • Measure 40.5 " from the handle end of the conduit and cut off remaining excess conduit material.
    • Insert bowden wire completely into conduit and assemble components as shown in Fig. 6.

Instructions for F, B, & N series vehicles are the same as the C model above except substituting the dimensional differences as outlined below. (See Fig. 7).
