Article 2053 - Rear Suspension - Rattling or Knocking Noise at Rear Leaf Springs

TSB #131 - January 16, 1970
(1970 Fairlane/Torino Station Wagon and Ranchero)

Some vehicles may develop a rattling or knocking noise in the rear suspension. In some cases this noise is caused by the rear spring front eye bolt being below minimum torque specification of 80 lb. ft. Retorquing the bolt to specifications (80-120 lb. ft.) is the only correction required.
