Article 2072 - Windshield Wipers Do Not Park, Intermittent Function Inoperative

TSB #131 - January 16, 1970
(Fairlane with Optional Intermittent Wiper System - 1970)

There is a fuse in the intermittent wiper governor (small silver box located near wiper motor) that can "blow" if the wiper blades or mechanism is restricted from normal movement (blades frozen to glass, etc.). Substituting a known quality governor is a quick and easy way to check for this condition.

NOTE: Do Not attempt to by-pass the governor by connecting the wiper motor directly to the main harness. This can result in damage to the wiper switch.

The fuse has been eliminated from service parts and from production parts (on a running change basis) to prevent this condition.
