Article 10 - Improper Matching of Radio and Speaker

TSB #1 - September 15, 1971
(1971 Mustang Equipped with AM Radio)

Subject vehicles built between 7-15-71 and 7-22-71 at Dearborn Assembly Plant (F) may have a mismatched radio/speaker combination. (1971 8-OHM radio with 1972 3.2 OHM speaker). This mismatch will cause distorted sound when the volume control is turned more than 1/4 turn clockwise. During pre-delivery or where distorted sound is noticed, inspect the instrument panel speaker. If it has a "3.2 ohms'' stamped on the magnet, replace it with an 8 OHM speaker.

NOTE: The "3.2 ohm" speaker can be used for service stock for 1972 vehicles.
