Article 97 - Improper "Dome" Lamp or "Dome-Map" Lamp Light Leakage

TSB #9 - January 14, 1972
(1972 Thunderbird and Torino [R.P.O.]; 1972 Mark IV [standard] and Montego [R.P.O.])

Condition:
Some Mark IV vehicles built prior to 8/30/71, had a conventional "Dome" lamp installed in place of the standard "Dome-Map" combination lamp.

On Thunderbird, Torino and Montego vehicles equipped with the optional "Dome Map" combination lamp built prior to 8/30/71, light leakage may occur between the "Dome-Map" lamp body and plate assembly. Also, the plastic lens may distort due to bulb heat and may fall out of the "Dome-Map" lamp body.

Correction:
Install a new "Dome-Map" Combination Lamp Kit, Part No. D2LY-13776-D as shown in Fig. 5.
