Article 101 - Excessive Engine Oil Consumption

TSB #9 - January 14, 1972
(1970-71 401, 477, 534 CID Truck Engines with Dry Type Air Cleaners)

Excessive engine oil contamination may result from unfiltered air entering the crankcase.

Since crankcase air is taken from the unfiltered side of the air cleaner, the aluminum crimp packing does not thoroughly filter the incoming air.

To correct, replace the present filler caps with Part No. C4TZ-6766-B, which contains hair packing filter material.
