Article 104 - Side Marker Lamps Front and Rear - Loose

TSB #10 - January 28, 1972
(1972 Thunderbird/Mark IV)

The front and rear side marker lamps may rattle due to looseness although the retaining nuts are tightened to specification.
Incorrect retaining nuts and/or insufficient torques may not allow the lamp assembly to be properly positioned to the fender and/or quarter panel.

Correct as follows:
  • FRONT: Remove and discard the incorrect crown nuts that retain the lamp. Replace bezels that have broken or stripped studs. Install the original or new bezel using new self-threading nuts. Part No. 374566-S100, tightened to a revised specification of 15 to 25 inch pounds of torque.
  • REAR: Remove and save the self-threading sealing nuts that retain the bezel. Replace bezels that have broken or stripped studs. Install the original or new bezel using the original nuts tightened to a revised specification of 15 to 25 inch pounds of torque. Water test and use caulking cord on the nuts if required to assure a leak free installation.
