This one might stump a bunch of you, depending on how far down you've dismantled your trucks:

I'd estimate that 90% (or more) of all '67-'72 trucks have two of these. This oval-shaped object is about an inch wide, maybe a tiny bit more. What is it?

the trucks i have dismantleted were with sawzalls and torches in places were they wouldn't come apart. so i am unsure on this. but i would be safe in saying that its a washer.

Looks like a camber washer, What years and models I would not be able to answer if I was correct.

I think I've been lucky enough to only own trucks in the 10% that didn't get them. That's a stumper.

Is it for the bumper up front to shim it if the frame is bent?

Is it a shim used to position the components of the drum brakes on 2wd truck?

Nobody's even close yet. OK, I'll give you a little hint. The above-pictured item isn't a shim, it's a specialty washer...and there's one on each side of the truck.

...and if you were to slice your truck in half top-to-bottom, these will be located in the top half. :pop:

the only thing i can think of and i think i'm wrong. is that it might have been a washer that goes on the choke cable behind the dash before the nut tightens down the choke cable. but none of my trucks have that washer so i am wrong.

On bumpside wing windows there's a threaded stud that sticks out the bottom. It has a nut, spring and several metal and plastic washers on it. The specialized washer in the picture looks like the uppermost washer on that lower wing window stud.

...and Dustin got it!! Yep, that's the upper washer for the lower vent window assembly mount. The lower washer is round, the upper washer (yellow arrow) is oval-shaped and is what is featured in this Truck Trivia segment. :D

Ah-ha! The washer looks a lot bigger in the pic, could you put a pencil or coin by it next time? :D
